An incredible head of double-figure carp has made Drayton Reservoir one of the most popular day-ticket venues in the UK. It’s full of hungry carp with the average size being around the 15lb mark. The venue is relatively easy and it’s not uncommon to catch more that 10 carp during a day session. The swims close to the sailing club are often prolific and produce carp all year round. Try casting small PVA bags of pellets and hi-viz pop-ups into open water. If you’re after a few bends in the rod, get yourself down to Drayton, you will not be disappointed.
