Alarm World First

Solar-powered bite alarm revealed by top carp tackle manufacturer.
JRC has revealed what is believed to be a world first – the solar-powered bite alarm.

Showcased at the recent EFFTEX show held in Paris, the Radar DS Solar – based on the firm’s brilliant Radar alarm – is set to hit tackle shops this Autumn.

Doing away with the need for a regular battery, the Radar DS Solar works with the use of a Lithium-ion accumulator that receives its charge via small solar panels mounted on the back of the alarm.
For those worried that the alarm would only work in sunny conditions, don’t fret. Once charged the Lithium-ion battery has the juice to power the unit for weeks of fishing, meaning you don’t need daylight for the alarm to work.

To be on the safe side the alarm also comes with a warning function to let anglers know when the unit needs recharging.

Designed, developed and built in Europe, the Radar DS Solar comes with the same list of features that have made the battery-powered Radar’s so popular since their launch, the new solar units will also come with a two year unlimited warranty.
