110lb Bluebell Cat Banked

Giant moggy caught from famous big carp water.
A catfish weighing in excess of 110lb has been landed from Bluebell Lakes in Northamptonshire.

The giant fish was captured by Coalville rod, Adi White - and landed after a hectic 75 minute battle.

Adi, 39, explained: "I hooked the fish around midday, and didn't slip the net under it until 1.15, so its fair to say it gave a very good account of itself!

Because of its sheer size, it was a very difficult fish to weigh, and when I did finally get most of it in the sling, half of its tail was still on the floor - so I will never truly know its exact weight. With it being such a special fish, I was just happy to have caught it though - and keen to see it swim away safely, so I didn't want it to be out of the water for to long.

I caught the giant on a CC Moore Meteor boilie and popper, which I glugged in Meteor liquid for extra attraction.

I popped the bait up around two feet off the bottom, and cast around 60 yards, where I found a hard bottom, with a little weed growth. I actually lost something earlier on in the session, which in hindsight could even have been the same fish.

I was a little shell shocked after I returned the fish to the water, and didn't fish in the afternoon. It was the fish of a lifetime."
