£7million For Cemex

Offers now being invited for famous waters as asking price is revealed.
The wait is over, as the prices being asked for some of the most famous and important waters in carp fishing history are revealed by the agents working on behalf of Cemex Angling.

Offers over £7million are being invited from parties interested in purchasing the entire catalogue of venues, with the individual prices for all the 57 waters up for grabs totaling at £7.3million.

The news will come as a relief to many anglers, with rumours of a £37million price tag proving false and so making the purchase of the waters by angling interests much more of a possibility.

As Total Carp understands it a number of angling based parties are interested in a making purchases from Cemex. The party making the loudest noises so far though is that of Legacy Angling run by angler and bailiff Graham Mustoe and his partner Georgina Bradley.

“We estimated that a figure of £7million was probably about right for the entire sale so it’s good news,” Georgina told Total Carp. “We already have the funding in place for this region of asking price, our only concern now is that another party with much bigger pockets and without looking to do the best by anglers might come along and purchase the waters.

“We’re desperate to buy all of or as many of the Cemex waters up for sale as possible. They’re such important venues which need preserving and in some cases improving for anglers and we’ll do our vest to make sure this happens.”

Legacy Angling is looking to purchase the Cemex waters and retain them as they are now, with the same management and bailiffing teams in place. They have also told Total Carp that once they are not looking to make a profit on the waters, instead reinvest any surplus back into the fisheries to improve them for the benefit of anglers.

In total the Cemex Angling sale being organized through fishery sales experts Fenn Wright, offers 20 fisheries with 57 waters. Including such famous venues as Yateley, Horton, the Roach Pit, Burghfield and Frimley, they are spread out over nine different counties and covering 632acres of water.

The next few months will be an interesting and crucial time for the future of these waters with anglers crossing their fingers that access to them will remain in place.
