For a long time behind the scenes, the boys at Sticky have been accounting for some of the country’s finest carp by using their own secret little gems. The company has now secured access to the complete complex list of ingredients and is finally making these baits available to the masses. Utilising no fewer than 10 unique liquids and two powerful, highly attractive fruit palatants, these baits are something special. There has been rigorous testing and tweaking to ensure that each bait has the optimum pH level to encourage a feeding response.
Using good bait is one thing but having a hook bait that stands out from the norm is another and can often result in a quick bite or continuous action.
The range from Sticky needs no introduction, having been on form for the past several seasons, and it has recently launched a few new wafter hook baits to accompany the proven Krill range and the extremely effective Signature flavour profile.
The Signatures are designed as highly attractive single hook baits with a fruity sweet aroma in pastel fluoro colours such as white, yellow and pink. Available in 12mm and 16mm, these can be used in conjunction with snowman presentations, PVA bags or balanced hook baits.
I have lost count of how many baits I have tested in almost 12 years of working on the DHP carp titles, but it’s well into the hundreds, and every now and then I take one out that immediately impresses. Previous examples have included Mainline’s Cell, CC Moore’s Live System and Nash’s Amber Strawberry, all of which have also stood the test of time since my initial reviews. I’ve just added another bait to this illustrious list – The Krill. It’s been talked about for a very long time and many of the Sticky anglers have had some impressive results on it, but it was only this spring that I managed to get my hands on some to put through its paces.

The Krill needs no introduction, such has been its phenomenal success since its launch in 2014.
However, as well as the boilies, there are a host of dedicated products to go with them, one of which is this paste.
I’ve always been a fan of paste because it is so versatile, but the most obvious use for it is as a boilie wrap. As such, it needs to be malleable and easy to work with but still be able to adhere to the hook bait and cope with casting and hitting the water.
I have been using The Krill for around six months and have gained a lot of confidence in the bait. When I first saw these cheeky little Pink Ones I thought they would be a great addition to my pop-up collection. As well as matching the same food signals I have been trying to establish as a food source, the hi-viz pink gives a visual element that works fantastically when fishing over large spreads of bait or as high-attract singles. With the choice of 12mm and 16mm there’s plenty of scope for various presentations, from fishing in conjunction with PVA bags, snowman steups, chods and more.
Formulated to work in every season, this highly nutritious boilie is based on predigested fishmeals and milk proteins with a host of powerful attractors. RRP: £10. 99 per kiloContact: 01430 448322 or www. stickybaits.
The first thing that struck me about these bright hook baits was the sheer number of baits in each tub. Call me a dullard, but I emptied a tub and counted 136 back in. That’s phenomenal value for money for any hook baits. There are four flavours in the high-viz versions, namely Peach & Pepper (orange), Pineapple & N-Butyric (yellow), White Chocolate (erm, white, obviously) and the hugely successful Buchu-Berry (pink).
