Talk about the synergy between carpy gear and High Street fashion and one name springs to mind – Navitas. The Essex-based firm manages to combine what we carp anglers want from fishing apparel as well as making it look good away from the bank. Although not necessarily falling into my age bracket (I’m over 40, after all) the Alpha Quilt is right up the street of the younger generation of carp angler. The two lads on TC love this one and I’ve a feeling they’ll be fighting over it.
A super item to help build up those all-important layers. Ideally worn over base layers, the Atlas fleece is part of the Navitas Interactive System, allowing it to be fastened to both the Navitas Scout jacket and Navitas Agent jacket to provide a fully protective winter jacket solution. A 100 per cent polyester construction makes a lightweight yet warm item boasting three external zip pockets, full-length zip and embroidered logo detail. The garment can also be purchased from small through to XXXL in angling green, as pictured here.
One of several new patterns in the Navitas range of full-cotton deluxe tees, this one features the ‘Camp Navitas’ logo. Looks great on the bank and off it and is available in two colours, green and grey. RRP: £14. 99FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO: www.

As the name suggests these are extremely lightweight – 350g to be precise. For boots claiminging to offer insulating protection down to minus 30°C this is really impressive. Because the thermal liner is completely removable these are also sturdy EVA rubber Wellington-type boots for use all year round. Ideal for when you are wading through puddles and margins the ingenious design means they will float should they come off and with a useful rear kick-off plate they are easy to take off without the need for grabbing your boots and getting covered in mud.
PUKKA!On an early spring recce to Navitas HQ in deepest Essex I was privvy to a host of exciting new bits, incuding these three, which I singled out for a closer look.
First up, and a particular favourite for me as a self-confessed Croc hater, the Weaves offer a great option to the carp angler wanting a summer shoe that can be slipped on and off in a hurry. The weave design allows water to drain out immediately and, despite it being more of a slipper design, the rear folds down easily to allow them to be worn more like a slip-on.
Super-lightweight but with a decent soles, they take up very little room and can be worn for long periods without any discomfort.
