Carp Team England’s men’s and ladies’ teams recently hosted an evening at the superb RK Leisure Wraysbury 1 Lodge to celebrate the success of both teams over the past 12 months, thank sponsors for their support and announce coming events and plans going forward for Carp Team England. It is an exciting time for all of the Carp Team England squads, with more events and some exciting new fixtures to compete in. Following the success of the Celtic Cup, a Home Nations event involving England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales is planned for 2017, together with friendlies both at home and abroad for the men’s team. England intend to host a Six Nations event in 2017 following on from their victory in France in May, and in the meantime there is, of course, the defence of their World Championship title at Lac du Bourdon this September.

An overnighter on a packed water is far from the easiest environment to catch carp in, but that’s exaclt what Solar Tackle team members Wesley Lagart and Ignace de Roeck have done, with Solar's new TunaMino test baits performing yet again. Grabbing the opportunity to nick a night on the bank, the Belgian-based pair dropped onto the Waesmere syndicate water for an overnighter. On arrival, Wes and Ignace found the lake packed, with only one swim option left for them. Taking minimal gear on the barrow, as the swim was typically as far from the car park as possible, both guys had to catch their breath on arrival in the swim, after a long walk on uneven ground in hot temperatures.

Experienced and novice anglers alike are being warned to ‘Look Out, Look Up’ for overhead power lines, as National Fishing Month gets underway from July 22 to August 29. But as people head for the lakes, rivers and canals with their eyes cast downward to study the water, UK Power Networks, is urging them to take extra care and look up instead. It can be extremely dangerous for any equipment to come in to contact with overhead power lines and the electricity company runs more than 65,000 km of overhead power lines across the South East and East of England. Safety expert Ros Forbes at UK Power Networks said: “It’s understandable that anglers are focused on their sport, but we know they increasingly use long carbon fibre fishing poles which could come into contact with cables, so we’re reminding them to “Look Out, Look Up” before settling down to fish.

This 42lb 8oz mirror is Dean Morton's new UK PB, which he followed quickly afterwards with a pretty, scaly mirror of 26lb 6oz. Both fish came during a 48-hour trip on Dean's syndicate water, where he presented Solar Tackle’s Chilli Club boilies soaked in Marine 17 liquid on a plateaux 12ft deep at 100 yards range. 42lb 8oz 26lb 6oz. .

Korda’s Monster Carp, half-way through it’s first season on ITV4, has been a huge hit with audiences who rate the first two episodes as some of the best angling action to be aired on freeview TV! Covering Japan and Hungary so far, the series stars Ali Hamidi along with two guests (Neil Spooner, Tom Dove and Darrell Peck have co-starred so far, with Danny Fairbrass joining the crew in later episodes) in an hour-long angling adventure in search of giant carp across the globe. Taking in local culture, adventure and travel, the series ends with episodes shot in Italy (Tues, 19th July) and Austria (Tues, 26th Juy) to complete an amazing global hunt for carp that has gone down a storm on social media, with the series trending on Twitter during the broadcasts. Presenter and series producer Ali Hamidi said: "I think the response to this series from the fishing industry has been beyond our wildest dreams. We’re so proud and happy that you folks are loving it like you are.

As a brand-new addition to the fast-growing XTI range, the Lounger Chair is comfortable, luxurious and feature packed. As you can see in the photo, Dan Murrell is enjoying the host of features, including the high back, which boasts head support designed to provide the angler with maximum comfort when on the bank. The chair utilises an extra-thick foam mattress with fleece lining for the extra warmth needed on those cold misty mornings or as night begins to fall. The armrests are a great feature so you can really take the weight off, and with the addition of the covered protection it prevents your skin sitting against cold metal, which in cooler temperatures is just unbearable.

Summer can predominantly mean warm nights and quick sessions, and there is nothing more annoying than having to lug your large two-man winter bivvy around the lake. Well you no longer have to. This awesome little shelter boasts all the features you would expect to find on larger bivvies but without the weight and bulky nature. The bivvy alone weighs in at a rather minimal 5.
