Additional Info: This lake contains some stunning old carp but most of the stock commons the bigger 20lb plus carp were mainly commons to with only a handful of big mirrors. Only one of which I'd not had the pleasure of catching. So decided to put a few late autumn sessions in to an area its know to get caught from that time of year. Deciding to fish to an area of silt on the back of a clay spot id fished on previous trips to the lake and introduced plenty of manilla freezer 12mm and 16mm boilie and bloodworm pellet cloudy manilla liquid and matching bottom baits on blowback rigs . 10.26pm that evening I received a savage take on my right hand rod then a 15 minute battle ensued charging up and down the marginal shelf. Eventually rolling over the net chord it wasnt until I looked properly I realised I had my target Big Lumpy at 28lb 7oz and a new lake record. A moment I won't forget.
