Seafood boilies yield monster for German rodGerman angler Alfons Schambeck has landed his biggest-ever carp in the shape of this 71lb common. Fishing from Swim 18 on the famous Rainbow Lake in France, Alfons put two rods out at 9pm on the first night of a two-week session and, just 10 hours later, at 7am, he landed his new PB. Solar's Seafood Take-Away boilies did the business for the professional chef, who presented a snowman rig with a 40lb Solar Contour Unleaded leader and size 2 Solar Stronghold 101 hook close to a snaggy area at 80 yards. The fish put up a great fight in deep water before finally sliding into Alfons' waiting net.

Lucky angler catches £10,000 cash at CLA Game Fair!Jersey-based accountant Andrew Dann was the lucky recipient of £10,000 cash after he won Fish for a Fortune at this year’s CLA Game Fair at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire. Entrants had just 20 minutes to catch a fish in the lake to then be eligible to be entered into the cash prize draw.
