Following Sonik’s Gizmo2 Bite Alarms successful initial release, this second version sees a number of advanced features that significantly enhance their usability. These include new frosted finish snag ears, which drastically improve visibility even during the brightest of conditions. There are six customisable colour LEDs to choose from – red, blue, green, purple, orange and white – and users can even tune the LED brightness. This model boasts an impressive 200m range and will prove extremely worthy when fishing large expanses of water. Battery life is vastly improved, with each alarm running on AAA batteries (not included). Common yet essential features include forward and backward bite indication, sealed weatherproof case, rod friendly rubber inlays as well as an intelligent mute mode. If you own illuminated bobbins, the 2.5mm output socket on each alarm will be most welcome. 

The competition prize is a two-alarm set, which comes complete with a matching receiver and bivvy light. The receiver has a total of four channels with multi colour LEDs but it is able to sync up to eight alarms, which is great when fishing with other anglers. A vibration mode allows alarms and receiver to be set to silent, although the chosen tone of your alarms will be automatically matched for a no-fuss user experience. If you wish the receive to operate with sound, there are six volume levels at your disposal. A lanyard attachment point allows for the receiver to be hung around your neck or in your shelter, although its design allows it to sit free standing on a tabletop.The rechargeable bivvy light uses many of the same features as the receiver, including the same alarm colour sync technology. You can opt to have this light illuminate when the bite alarm is triggered, but there is also the option to manually turn this on and off whenever you so desire.
