Getting ziggy with it
Jamiedaly1998 | Mar 11, 2021
Angler Name: James Daly
Hometown: Chelmsford
Fish Weight: 36lb 4oz
Bait: Black foam tipped with red foam
Venue: Honeypots specimen lake
Rig: 6ft zig rig
Tactics: Single zig in open water
Additional Info: Massively high air pressure meant it had to be zigs.. due to the lake not doing a fish for 7 days from when I landed a low 20 common I decided to fish the pleasure lake after some of the big cats in there.. it wasn’t happening so I decided to move back onto the specimen lake for the afternoon so I deployed 3 zigs at different depths and with different baits and the rig fished at 6ft with black foam tipped with red foam had a massive drop back. I lifted into the fish and all I can say is what a fight! It lasted around 15/20 mins and with a 6ft hooklink and the lead not ejecting on the take there was some hairy moments. All the anglers around the lake stood and watched the fight but as it went in the net I could see just how big it was.. I didn’t recognise the fish to start with but it is the dip-back common and weighed in at 36lb 4oz
