Angler Name: Steven wiltshire
Hometown: Calne
Fish Weight: 20.09lb
Bait: Mainline cell pop up
Venue: Rushy lane
Rig: Free lined
Additional Info: First time fishing this venue. There was plenty of carp in this lake. Due to the hot weather it was very hard to tempt the carp to feed on the bottom so I set my self up to fish on the surface. The fish were being really picky about picking up baits. I could see a few sticking there heads up in the weed. So to not disturb them that much I decided to hair rig a pop up and free line to the fish in the weed. Took me a few cast to get it out to them. Non of the fish seemed to be interested. Then I noticed a fish to my left had side come out from under the weed so I casted it out just past the fish and reeled in slowly right in front of the fish. Then BANG! Hit in to the fish. Was a very hard fighting fish took me straight under the tree to my right hand side and was trying to get as much pressure on the fish to get it out. I could feel branches brushing on the line. Thankful I managed to get the fish out from the snags and over the net she goes. Couldn't believe the how nice this creature looked when I looked in to the net and it being the first 20lb for me this year I was over the moon with this capture. So pleased I choose size 4 beak pointed hook from hobo armour
