Additional Info: Sometimes when arriving at your syndicate things happen that just tell you this is going to be a session from hell, and that’s exactly how this session started but the end was perfect.
As I drove through the gate to my syndicate lake I headed down the beaten track and bang, off goes my oil filter with oil absolutely everywhere, i ditched the van and started unloading the gear anyway, (the van can wait) whilst unloading I managed to drop a whole 5kg bag of boilies on the floor and they went absolutely everywhere, I slowly but surely with the raging hump picked up every single one and put them back in the bag just to drop them again 5 mins later, at this point I was so fed up that I was going to give it a miss and try again next week, but off course I couldn’t do that as the van was broken.
I headed of to the swim I had seen fish showing and set up there for the night, at 2am my right rod sounds and I’m in to a carp on my second ever night on this mighty water, I couldn’t believe my luck, that was until I lost a small common right at the net, absolutely gutted I almost threw my rod in the lake. Anyway I pulled myself together and continued fishing, at 9am the next morning the left hand rod sounded and the bobbing bounced up and down, knowing this lake is full of tench I was sure it was one of them, that was until the rod started bowing round to the left, I instantly picked the rod up and could feel this was definitely no tench.
After a exhilarating 15 minute battle my prize was at the net, I couldn’t believe my eyes, the queen of the pond was sulking in the bottom of my net, swirly at a mega 46lb felt like a dream after such an awful start to my second ever night on my new syndicate.
