126lb 5 mirrors in January
Millwall Carping | Jan 8, 2024
Angler Name: Anthony stygal
Hometown: Rochester
Fish Weight: 17lb
Bait: A2 mums special
Venue: Ddaps sutton
Rig: Ronnie
Tactics: Simple
Additional Info: I arrived at my new ddaps syndicate in darenth Friday 5th Jan at 9am and car park was quite busy so had a quick walk round and found it rather busy but the furthest swim on the venue was free and the fish were showing in numbers and no one else in sight so I quickly returned to my van and loaded my barrow for the long walk back to the cottage bay
I got my rods out the bag and had a few casts onto a spot and clipped up ,got my marker sticks out and 16 wraps was the distance for both rods
I walked around to my spot and gently scattered 30 creamy toffee A2 baits boilies onto the area and got back to my swim to put my Ronnie rigs out with A2 baits mums special wafter on my first rod casting and hitting the clip and layed it on the ground, second rod I put couple toppers on and quickly cast to same spot and layed on the ground
I turned around to get my bank sticks and alarms out and the first rod was away already, after a short fight I landed my first mirror of the year,I weighed it at 17lb and took a couple pictures and returned it safely
I wrapped the rod up and cast back to my spot as I layed the rod down my other rod was away to my amazement resulting in a 25lb mirror couple pictures later returned back to lake
I then got both rods on alarms and got my bivvy up and settled in to my swim but not for long as my rod screamed off again, after an epic battle I landed my 3rd mirror at 32lb a couple photos and returned it back to it's home
Recast the rod back to the spot and sat down thinking this is to good to be true but the fish were still showing
A few hrs passed and my rod was screaming again giving me my 4th mirror weighing in at 28lb I was absolutely buzzing taking pictures of all these carp
The afternoon sun was now gone and getting dark so I pulled both rods in and walked round and put some more freebies on the spot and got the rods back out and settled down for the night but wasn't long and my rod rattled off again resulting in a 24lb fully scaled mirror my 5th of the day
What an amazing start to the year for me, I lost 2 more during the night but it didn't matter I was still buzzing
Happy new year to you all and hope you all have as much luck as myself
