One of Europe’s largest fishing-tackle suppliers, Svendsen Sports is seeking a UK sales manager.
Founded in 1977, Svendsen is enjoying strong and healthy growth with Okuma, Prologic, Savage Gear, Scierra, Ron Thompson and Imax leading the way in its portfolio of established brands.
With its headquarters near Copenhagen in Denmark the company boasts its own sales force in the UK, Germany, France, Benelux, Austria and Scandinavia, dealing directly with local retailers. In addition, it exports to more than 30 countries around the world.
For this exciting role, Svendsen is searching for a strong and skilled leader who is experienced in managing a sales force and sales office.
The ideal candidate will already be connected to the tackle trade in some form and be a strongly committed, strategic-thinking brand builder who is hands-on and can ‘walk the talk’. They will need to be an accomplished negotiator, experienced in servicing large key accounts. A systematic personality is also a must, with experience of budgeting, forecasting, initiating campaigns, and securing a healthy growing business.
In return, Svendsen offers a challenging and responsible management position as the company’s top man in the UK. The successful candidate will have an independent revenue and budget responsibility and be the driving force in making their team the winners in the market.
Their brief will be to sell unique products representing strong brands, and work closely with Svendsen’s international headquarters in Denmark. The appointed candidate will also enjoy the company’s open and effective communication channels at all levels and a simple, positive work climate.
