15th Anniversary for prestigious carp fishing event.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the World Carp Classic. Organisers are celebrating with a number of new event features.
Event founder, Ross Honey explained: "We are very proud to announce that the next event, in 2013 marks the 15th Anniversary of the World Carp Classic.
"In that time, the World Carp Classic has become the biggest, most prestigious and popular carp angling event in the world. It has become known affectionately throughout the carping community as being far more than an angling competition. Uniquely, it is endorsed by many to be a celebration of angling with an amazing festival atmosphere. That is something that we are justifiably proud of.
"In celebration of our 15th Anniversary we plan to make the event even more special in 2013 – an incredible 400 participants will be there to compete for the honours in 20 sections; that’s 10 pegs per section and this alone represents a one in 10 chance of winning a major prize!
"For the 400 participants and their team runners, the next event will be an unforgettable occasion and I look forward to seeing you all at the fabulous Lake Bolsena.
"Starting on September 30th, the opening and closing ceremonies will be broadcast live on TV, so if you are not able to be on-site you won't miss any of the action. We will have a full TV Crew with the very latest equipment for the full duration of the event producing daily footage that will be shown on the World Carp Classic TV channel. This, along with the live leader board, will be free to view on the World Carp Classic website.
"The opening and closing ceremonies are always emotional occasions filled with tension and anticipation and this year you will be able to enjoy the footage live from the event. In addition you will also be able to add your own views and comments and chat live with a panel of experts that we will have on-site.We also have a new iPhone App, which you can download to get comprehensive coverage of the event on all platforms PC, tablet, mobile so where ever you are you won't miss any of the action."
