French super venue produces second 70 of the year.
Gigantica has produced its second 70lb carp of 2013 in the formidable shape of Drop Tail. The huge mirror weighed in at 70lb and fell to Polish angler Marcin Bielawski. Marcin tempted his new PB over plenty of Mainline Hybrid, which he applied steadily over the course of a week to a spot out from the Stock Pond swim.
Drop Tail fell to a Banoffee wafter hook bait over the Hybrid freebies, a combination that has accounted for 90 per cent of the bites that have come off the bottom this year! Martin also banked the impressive Shoulders at 46lb 8oz and Korda’s Richard ‘Barty’ Bartlett got in on the action too, taking Spencer’s fish at 51lb on a zig.
The renowned big-fish water has fished well in 2013, thanks in part to the absence of the heavy weed that made the fishing tricky at times in 2012. Despite the fact that the lake is fishing extremely well, with many of the bigger, A-Team, fish yet to see the bank, there are still spaces available in some previously productive weeks! Nope, we can’t believe it either. These are the dates that are currently available, so take a look and book your shot at a Gigantica monster…
