It's been a hectic few weeks for Dutch Fox consultant Mark Noorman, but when he managed to squeeze in a hectic pre work session recently, even he was gobsmacked by how well he caught!
He explained: "Because of the sudden warm temperatures I expected the carp to have finished spawning and be looking for some food in the coming days. Therefore I planned an early morning session of just a few hours and pre-baited a general area on a local lake with some Mainline Cell boilie chops for two days. The fish see a fair bit of angling pressure so I opted for a subtle and effective hooking setup containing some of the awesome new Edges products.
The 8cm long rig was constructed from the new 15lb Reflex Camo in Light Camo and a size 10 Kuro S4 XS hook, to which a Tungsten Hooklink Sinker was added. To create an aggressive angle this was complemented with a piece of X-Small Trans Khaki Shrink Tube, whilst the leader was a 3ft length of 30lb Submerge, which is a great new lead-free leader. Hookbaits were a Cell chop tipped with some yellow fake corn, and after they were positioned and the hangers clipped on. I wanted to grab the chair from the barrow - however, I did not get the time because the left hand alarm was already screaming! The fish were definitely switched on as the same rod was away about half an hour later. By the end of my short morning session before work I had banked two nice twenties and a lovely smaller fish, which was great fun. I was very impressed with the new Edge products especially the Trans Khaki Shrink Tube, which shrinks down so very thin, but is still very stiff and incredibly durable. I can't wait to have another go!"
