Spring bank promotion encourages anglers to take a friend fishing for free.
Take A Friend Fishing (TAFF) campaign, organised and run by the Angling
Trades Association, is back again this spring bank holiday weekend.
TAFF is designed to encourage regular anglers to take their family
members and friends fishing to let them try the sport for themselves.
one-day rod licences (each worth £3.75) from the Environment Agency are available online below so that
anglers can take a mate or a family member on a fishing session between
Saturday, 25th May and midnight, June 2nd 2013.
Angling Trades Association Chair said: ‘With the weather finally
improving and the Easter TAFF promotion being successful, the
Environment Agency has kindly offered another free rod licence promotion
for the Spring Bank Holiday. It’s a brilliant opportunity for existing
anglers to take people out and introduce them to this great sport. I
would encourage everyone to take part and share the joys of angling with
In additional to a FREE rod licence, your friend can
also fish for free at a number of Angling Trust fishery and club member
venues. These fisheries have pledged to support the Take a Friend
Fishing campaign by offering FREE day ticket or member passes so that
your friend can fish for nothing on their waters (some exclusions may

ask if you can introduce a friend or family member to your fishery for a
discounted rate. You might be pleasantly surprised at their response.

free rod licence voucher cannot be used to fish for coarse fish on any
river, stream or drain in England and Wales between 15th March and 15th
June inclusive. The closed season may apply to some canals and still
waters in your area - please check before going fishing.
