Walsall man Wayne Chambers had a holiday to remember last week, after returning home having set a new personal best – and broken the record at Gloucestershire’s Cherry Lakes.
The 47 year old enjoyed a week at the luxury resort, and the monster fish was bagged after a hectic 20 minute battle.
Wayne explained: “I knew as soon as I hooked the fish that I was attached to something a bit special. She gave a very good account of herself! The nice thing was though, with Cherry being a new venue, I knew the bottom was fairly clean so there was no need to apply any real pressure until it came to the netting stage.
When I found out that the fish set a new venue record, I was over the moon!”
